Dull days

For over two weeks now, the sky has been pretty much a constant, unchanging, dismal, damp, dull-grey.

There have been occasional blue patches, sometimes I’ve even spotted glimmers of sun, however they are only fleeting and the clouds soon spread to fill any gaps.

It’s typical Autumn weather for this part of the UK. One benefit of the terminally overcast, blanket sky is that the night time temperatures have stayed high and we have not yet had even a risk of frost; but as the Autumn moves into Winter, the wind will change and the cloud will finally clear. It will give us sunny winter days, but over the long nights, will leave the garden open to the stars.
