It looks like there’s no let-up to the cold just yet. A continental high that is refusing to shift is sending freezing air our way. The snow isn’t really thawing throughout the day so the garden is still covered in a white blanket. The temperature is due to drop towards the weekend and there may be more snow in the following week too.
While many plants don’t appear to be particularly bothered, there will be some for which this prolonged cold will see them off. From reading about the hardiness of plants (I expect lots of people will be checking up on the hardiness of their plants), I get the general impression that a single, cold night of, say -10°C is much easier to survive than a prolonged spell at 0°C.
