The autumn leaves had been on the grass for a while now as I haven’t had chance to pick them up. Luckily, last Saturday was sunny (but still freezing) so I took the opportunity to head outside with a grass rake and a few bin bags to have a bit of a tidy-up.
It didn’t take long to sweep up the leaves from the cherry tree but the wisteria leaves posed a bit of a problem because they’re small. This was solved by using the lawn mower to Hoover them up. I changed the blade height to the highest since a close shave at this time of year may well be its last.
Although most of the grass is OK, a season of plants flopping onto it followed by a month or two smothered with leaves left several areas looking very scratty indeed.
