One morning, when it was looking to turn into another fine sunny day, I thought to myself, “I really ought to finish off pulling the ivy roots from the patio wall with the electrical pliers.” (as one often does). However, that thought quickly left my mind as that day was the day I was being taken to RHS Garden Wisley, aka “Wisley”.
Wisley is the home and flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society in the UK. It has sixty acres of gardens and is simply an incredible and inspiring place for anyone – even those who aren’t into gardening but can appreciate plants. The scale of Wisley is vast and there is so much to see that I wanted to bring a tent and sleeping bag, as well as a spade and wheelbarrow.
Now that we have moved, we are only 35 minutes from Wisley but I’ve been so busy in the house and garden that this is the first time I’ve had the chance to go.
In the time we had we didn’t manage to look at all parts of Wisley and the photos concentrate on the parts I liked best. There was so much more to look at and drool over I couldn’t begin to remember it all.
No doubt there will be many more trips there in the future, just as soon as I finish pulling those ivy roots out of the patio wall.
